The article, Living on a Dollar a Day in Malawi, grabbed my attention because of how different all these Malawian families lives are compared to ours in the US.  It’s very upsetting to hear that these people barely make a dollar a day and are struggling so much to have food on the table at the end of the night. It’s even more upsetting to me that the US continues to waste money on superficial things when there are people out there who can’t afford food for their families.

On the contrary, the podcast made was a lot more interesting to listen to then reading the article. Listening to the different sounds added in, like the rooster in the morning and the sound of digging, made the story more real life like. While reading the article, you can envision certain things, but hearing the sounds and the people that are being described gives the story something more to catch the listeners attention. I think its more entertaining to hear all these sounds and people, rather then just reading about it. All in all, the podcast gives the story something more, you can  sympathize  with these individuals when you hear their voices, and you know they are real and going through something incredibly hard.
